Ongoing Bookkeeping for Small Businesses

Small business owner going through paperwork behind the counter of her shop

With ongoing bookkeeping support, your books stay accurate and up to date all year, not just before a deadline. Transactions are coded as they come through, accounts are reconciled, bills are paid on time and you get clear reports on how the business is going.

We work in person around Lismore and the Northern Rivers or fully remotely, weekly, fortnightly or monthly, whatever suits your business.

Xero Bookkeeping Specialists

Clean files, happy accountants

We work primarily in Xero and keep files clean, correctly structured and ready for your accountant at year end. We’re happy to work alongside your accountant, and a tidy file usually means a smaller bill from them. If your file needs a clean-up first, start there.

Reporting your committee can rely on

Bookkeeping for Not-For-Profits and Committees

Not-for-profits have extra obligations: a committee to report to, grants to acquit and records that need to be audit-ready. We prepare reports for committee meetings, keep records in order, support grant applications and acquittals, and make sure the books carry over cleanly when the treasurer changes. If your organisation runs events, we can manage ticketing and payments too.

Bookkeeping FAQs

A bookkeeper keeps your records accurate and up to date day to day: coding transactions, reconciling accounts, running payroll and preparing reports. An accountant uses those records for tax returns and advice. You need both, and they work best together.

Both. We’re based in the Lismore CBD and can work on site with local businesses, and we support clients fully remotely through Xero. Many clients use a mix of the two.

Yes. We’ll liaise with your accountant at year end and whenever questions come up.

It depends on your transaction volume, payroll and the current state of your file. We quote after a free discovery chat, and you’ll get a written proposal before any work starts.

Primarily Xero, including setup, file structure and day-to-day processing. If you’re on something else, we can talk through the options, including whether moving to Xero makes sense.

We assist in preparing your BAS information. It’s then reviewed and lodged by BAS Advisory Group Pty Ltd (registered BAS agent no. 26328712) under a supervised arrangement.

We’ll review your file, list what we need (access, logins, outstanding paperwork) and manage the transition. If the file needs tidying first, we’ll quote a clean-up as a separate project.

Weekly, fortnightly or monthly, depending on what the business needs. We’ll recommend a schedule in your proposal and adjust it as things change.
